Synthesis And Characterization Of UV Curable Organic-Inorganic Acrylic-Based Coatings And Their Functional Properties

Abstract: This study describes the preparation of three di-acrylates monomers containing silicon. Their molecular structures are confirmed by IR, NMR spectroscopic analysis. In order to know its performance in UV-coatings as an additive and monomer; three different modifications each in the UV-formulations are proposed to. These formulations were applied on a glass substrate and polymerized by a UV lamp. Several characterizations were performed and evidenced a change in UV-curing, hardness, thermal stability and hydrophobicity.
