Functional Monodisperse Microparticles from Thiol-Michael Dispersion Polymerizations

Abstract: Polymeric colloids are materials with small size, high specific surface area and high diffusivity that are ubiquitous in coatings, composites and many other applications, however step-growth polymers are rarely implemented in this field. Herein, we report a facile and reliable preparation of monodisperse functional crosslinking microparticles based on step-growth thiol-Michael addition polymerizations, which are demonstrated to have significant advantages over traditional microparticles prepared from chain-growth polymerizations.
